The creative heart of the Binsted Fete is the traditional Flower, Produce & Craft competition - an important aspect of the event since the 1800's! There is something for everyone to enter whether you are 4 to 104. It's a perfect way to show off your green fingers, home bake specialties and craft creations and everyone has a chance of taking one of our beautiful trophies to proudly display at home until next year.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS

You do not need to have grown flowers and foliage used in these arrangements.

CENTERPIECE: An arrangement using flowers, foliage and accessories. The arrangement should be no bigger than 60cm wide x 60cm deep, but can be any height.

POSY: This can be using any colours or materials you wish.The posy should be no bigger than 40cm wide x 40cm deep, but can be any height. To be displayed in water.

MINIATURE: The arrangement to be no bigger than 10cm wide x 10cm deep, but can be any height.

JUNIOR CATEGORY: Any exhibit staged by someone 16 or under.

Children are welcome to enter any of the classes across the show under the junior category, but these ones are just for the kids!

This year's children's categories are all themed around nature and are intended to celebrate the beautiful wildlife and landscapes that we enjoy in Binsted and the surrounding villages. The competition is being run in collaboration with 'The Friends of Blacknest Fields'.

Each category will be judged in the following age categories:

2yrs - 4yrs
5yrs - 7yrs
8yrs - 11yrs
12yrs - 16yrs

Children's Colouring Competition

CRAFT COMPETITION

A piece of 2D or 3D craftwork created from recycled materials or items found at home on the theme of nature - whether of plants, flowers, wildlife or a landscape.

This category might include crafts such as sewing, embroidery, collage, sculpture, modelling and similar and should celebrate the natural world.

Maximum overall size of 2D submissions is A3. 3D submissions should be able to sit on a sheet no larger than A3.

DRAWING, SKETCHING & PAINTING COMPETITION

A piece of 2D art either sketched, drawn or painted on the theme of nature - whether of plants, flowers, wildlife or a landscape.

This category might include pencil and charcoal drawings, watercolour or acrylic paints, crayon, inks or colouring pencil and should celebrate the natural world.

Maximum overall size of the submission is A3 and the artist has free choice on what material the art work is completed on.
