Get Involved - The Fate of the Binsted Fete is in your hands!

Organisers.

This year The Binsted Fete is being run by just two people, Lisa Wright and Jonny Green.

About the Fete;

Over the years The Binsted Fete has involved hundreds of willing volunteers from the local community to host a village show primarily for residents of Binsted and the surrounding villages to have a fun day out whilst raising much needed funds for our local charities and good causes.

Many of the children’s attractions are free, the bouncy castles, face painting arts and crafts are all free of charge. Those that can, donate towards the running of the Fete for the benefit of the whole community.

There’s a well-attended dog show with classes designed for everyone to enter. Whether you have a top CC pedigree dog or an elderly scruff bag dog, there’s a class for you.

The Binsted Fete also promotes Young Entrepreneurs. Our youngsters are encouraged to make up games or produce home made products to enjoy at the Fete. This promotes the entrepreneurial skills needed to thrive in life and is a great opportunity to learn about planning, finances, marketing and managing a small enterprise.  This year we’ll have some car racing, popcorn, basketball, soaps and much more.

Some regular faces will be returning to The Binsted Fete this year with our favourite artisan products and there will be some new stalls to explore.

Additionally, we love the competitions. Whether you like to be outdoors, in the garden, enjoying our fabulous countryside with a camera, inside baking or creating yummy treats, we’ve a competition for you. This year, all our classes are being judged by professionals in their fields. For instance, our pedigree dog show judge has been showing for decades with plenty of appearances at Crufts and championship dog shows. Our Bake-Off judge is a professional executive chef with many years’ experience in fine dining and large events. We hope they’ll be plenty of entries for them to judge.

Holy Cross Church smaller.png

Holy Cross Church, Binsted

Holy Cross Church, Binsted is situated in the middle of the Village, close to the Primary School and the Wickham Institute. Back for another year, the Holy Cross Church team will be providing FREE face painting and children's crafts for your little ones to enjoy.

The current building dates from the 12th Century but it is believed there may have been an earlier Saxon church on or near the site.  Field Marshall Lord Montgomery, who was a regular worshipper at Holy Cross, is buried in the graveyard.
